Scenic Route Hwy 3 is a picturesque route via Peggy’s Cove, Chester and the lovely town of Mahone Bay and the 3 churches, with your final destination in Lunenburg. Enjoy this route for an amazing sunset or sunrise drive with ginger cake and ice cream at The Souwester in Peggy’s Cove or Trellis Cafe at Hubbards. For afternoon treats at Kiwi Cafe at Chester, Biscuit Eater, Mahone Bay or Salt Shaker Deli supper on the deck at The Spinnaker Inn, Lunenburg. If time allows go via Bayswater, Aspotogan peninsula near Hubbards to Blandford and have a dip at this lovely flat sand beach.
Scenic Route via 332/331 from Lunenburg via Hirtle’s beach, then to Lahave ferry on route 332 . Cross the river onto Route 331 to Crescent Beach, Rissers or Green Bay, Petite Riviere all wonderful beach escapes. Stop by Lahve Bakery for your lunch or take it to go and enjoy alfresco on our wonderful south shore coastline. Return to Lunenburg and enjoy a casual supper at The Knot pub, Magnolia’s, RumRunner or treat yourself to fine dining at The Fleur del Sel, Trattoria del Nona or The Kings Plate.
